TACC Empower Program

Build Your Path Forward with Aspire

Aspire is expanding its pre-apprenticeship training through new TACC Empower cohorts focused on increasing access and opportunity across the trades.

Real Support. Real Connections. Real Jobs.

Participants receive individualized support every step of the way, including:

  • Industry-recognized training and credentials
  • Career coaching and case management
  • Job placement assistance
  • Transportation assistance and childcare support, as needed

These comprehensive supports prepare graduates for Registered Apprenticeships and full-time employment opportunities.

Industry-Driven Training

Participants complete a 130-hour training program that includes:

  • Workplace readiness and professional skills development
  • NCCER CORE curriculum
  • OSHA-30 safety certification
  • Scissor lift and forklift operation certifications, Procore or a HAZWOPER-24 safety certification

Advancing Inclusive Workplaces

In partnership with industry leaders, Aspire also supports employers in building more inclusive and equitable workplaces. Employers may receive training and technical assistance on:

  • Inclusive hiring and onboarding practices
  • Mentorship and retention strategies
  • Supportive workplace culture

Exploring the Skilled Trades Through Real-World Experiences: TACC Empower Trades Days for High School Senior Girls

Summer Construction Camp

A three-day camp that brought together rising junior and senior girls for a deeper, hands-on introduction to construction careers.

Participants engaged in:

  • Hands on skill-building at ABC-NJ’s brand-new training facility
  • Creative, team-based construction projects
  • Motivational female guest speakers and industry professionals
  • An introduction to Registered Apprenticeship programs and career pathways

Building the Future Workforce

These experiences were designed to spark interest, build confidence, and create early connections to careers in the skilled trades, especially for young women exploring nontraditional career paths.

“Build Like a Girl” Trades Days

Built to engage young women from across South Jersey.

Participants experienced:

  • Live trade demonstrations
  • Interactive skill stations in carpentry, electrical, and plumbing
  • Virtual reality construction simulations
  • Conversations with women in the trades, including professionals and Registered Apprentices
