Kim Stanley

Kim Stanley is a Program Associate for the Young Adult Career Initiative. “When you know better, you do better,” is a quote by Maya Angelou that inspires Kim to encourage young adults to reach their full potential. Teaching, encouraging and exposing youth to positive outcomes has been her profession for the last 15 years. Kim’s professional background includes employment with nonprofit organizations and school districts. She worked as a life skills trainer for teenage mothers, a job consultant and coach for developmentally delayed high school students and a counselor for a program that served high school students. This position allows her to cumulate her skills and experiences while assisting young adults with developing the workplace skills needed for gainful employment. Stanley finds working with teens and young adults fulfilling because they are at the age when they have some life experience to draw upon which makes trainings relevant and applicable. Stanley has an undergraduate degree from Norfolk State University and a graduate degree from Temple University. Stanley is a Sunday school teacher and is active in her community.
